Mother Son Wedding Songs
Everyone who’s ever been a wedding guest knows
that one of the most touching moments of any reception
is the moment when the father of the bride dances with
his daughter. That father-daughter relationship is much
celebrated. But what of mother-son? More and more, an
emphasis is being placed on helping the mother celebrate
her son's new life. And with that celebration come a
variety of song choices to be used during the wedding
reception. Although obviously not every father-daughter
song can be turned into a mother-son song (Don't try
"Butterfly Kisses," for instance.), many work
either way. Songs such as Mariah Carey's "Hero,"
Anne Murray's "Could I Have This Dance" or
Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World"
are good examples. Some other songs that work specifically
for the mother-daughter event include "A Song for
My Son" by Mikki Viereck and "A Song for Mama"
by Boyz II Men. There are scores more. Ask a wedding
planner for suggestions, or check with your married
friends and family. Of course, a good option is to search
on Google or Yahoo for "mother-son songs."
Finally, we hope you'll find lots of helpful information
throughout this Website to help you plan your wedding
and reception music.
